Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how InnKite (“InnKite”, “we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies (local storage, session storage, service workers) on the owner dashboard and the guest chat progressive web app (PWA).

Effective date: 2026-10-07 · Version 1.2. Last amended 2026-10-07: the cookie table was corrected to match the keys, storage types, and durations the app currently uses.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your actions and preferences over a period of time, so you don’t have to re-enter them each time you visit a page.

InnKite also uses local storage and service workers, browser technologies that serve a similar purpose but can store more data and enable offline functionality. Throughout this policy, “cookies and similar technologies” refers to all of these mechanisms.

2. How we use cookies & local storage

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  • Authentication: to keep you signed in to the owner dashboard across page reloads and browser sessions.
  • Session management: to maintain your guest chat session so the AI assistant remembers the conversation context.
  • Offline support: the guest chat PWA uses a service worker and the browser Cache Storage API to cache the chat shell so it loads quickly even on poor connections. This is not a cookie and is not used to identify you.
  • Analytics: to understand how visitors interact with the landing page and dashboard so we can improve the product.
  • Security: to detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and unauthorised access.

3. Cookie categories

We classify cookies into four categories:

  • Strictly necessary: required for the service to function. Without them, you cannot sign in or use the chat. These cannot be disabled.
  • Functional: enhance the user experience by remembering preferences such as language. These are optional.
  • Analytics: collect aggregated, pseudonymous data about usage patterns. These are optional.
  • Marketing: InnKite does not currently use marketing or advertising cookies.

4. Detailed cookie table

The following table lists the cookies and local storage keys set by InnKite:

5. Third-party cookies

InnKite uses the following third-party services that may set cookies on your device:

  • Better Auth: our authentication provider sets session cookies when you sign in via magic link. These are strictly necessary.

We do not use advertising networks, social media pixels, or third-party tracking beacons.

6. Guest chat PWA

The guest chat interface is a progressive web app (PWA). To provide a fast, reliable experience even on poor network connections, it uses:

  • Service worker and Cache Storage: caches the chat shell (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) so it loads instantly on repeat visits. No personal information is stored in the service worker cache.
  • Session storage: innkite_session stores a conversation session identifier so the AI assistant can maintain context while the tab stays open. This identifier is a random UUID and does not contain personal information. It is cleared automatically when the tab or browser closes.

Guests can clear all of this data by clearing their browser data or by using the “Request data deletion” link in the chat footer.

7. Analytics

In production, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to collect aggregated page-view data. It is privacy-preserving and cookieless: it does not use tracking cookies, does not fingerprint visitors, and does not collect personal information such as names or email addresses.

Analytics data is used solely to understand aggregate traffic patterns and improve the product. It is not sold or shared with third parties for advertising.

8. Managing & disabling cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View all cookies currently stored on your device.
  • Block cookies from specific sites.
  • Block all new cookies.
  • Delete all cookies when you close the browser.

Disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in to the owner dashboard and from using the guest chat. Disabling analytics cookies will not affect functionality.

9. Local storage & service workers

In addition to cookies, InnKite uses the Web Storage API (local storage and session storage) and service workers. These technologies are governed by the same browser controls as cookies. Clearing site data in your browser will remove local storage and unregister service workers.

We do not use IndexedDB. All client-side data is limited to session identifiers and cached UI assets.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when our use of cookies or similar technologies changes. The effective date at the top of the page reflects the current version. Material changes are announced to owners by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
